Unplug. Slow down. Reconnect with your body, your breath, and the living world around you.
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku or Forest Bathing, Somatic Mindfulness invites you to explore nature with both your inner and outer senses.
Focus – Wander – Rest. We will use these three frameworks, with structured activities to balance inner and outer attention. We walk and pause, listen and see, and settle into an easy rhythm of movement and stillness to absorb the healing balm of this environment.
No experience needed, just a willingness to show up and allow the land at Shantigar to enchant you with its fields of wildflowers, waves of birdsong, and scent of pine needles on wooded paths. Here is a good introduction to Forest Bathing and its documented benefits.
Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes.
