Fall is here! Join mycologist and mushroom farmer Paul Lagrèze for a guided mushroom and wild edibles walk.
We will be discussing the relationships between mushrooms and the forest as well as hunting for local wild mushrooms and edibles native to the northeast.
Budding mycologists are asked to bring water, hiking boots, bug repellent, a bag or basket for found specimens to bring home and a knife for harvesting. We may run overtime if it's looking good out there so bring water and a snack. We will be going off path at times so dress accordingly. 14 people maximum, registered in advance.

Paul Lagrèze is the founder of New England Wild Edibles and teaches an introductory course on mushrooms at Greenfield Community College. At his farm in Heath, he cultivates shitake mushrooms and other carbon-consuming mushrooms and conducts cultivation classes. He also forages for mushrooms and wild edibles which he sells at the Tuesday Market in Northampton and to local restaurants. There is nothing that Paul enjoys more, or that brings him more peace, than being out in the woods looking for mushrooms.
